It’s now 3 months and 3 written requests to MBNA asking them to close my credit card account that I have with them. In my opinion, it’s a very dubious practice on their part to keep delaying closing the account – presumably hoping that I might use the card before they get around to it.
And I don’t think its just MBNA who carry on this practice. It took 3 months also, and 2 written requests to have my Bank of Ireland Mastercard account closed.
I think that credit card account closure requests should be treated in the same way that online bookmakers close betting accounts when requested. The requests are actioned on the same day that you make your closure request. Instant!!!
