However, given the short notice, and the urgency, I e-mailed the office concerned in the University and explained the situation and that the cheque was in the post. (It was, honest, I have the An Post receipt). Within just 2 ½ hours I received an e-mail back confirming that my transcript would be in the post the next morning.
It’s still amazing to me that I’m still surprised when I receive excellent customer service. As it’s not the norm in this country, it’s an unfortunate thing for all of us that the exception is getting good service, rather than it being the rule.
