Last month I wrote about how to properly focus a “Buy Irish” campaign. My proposal was that it was ultimately down to consumers to change their buying habits to buy more Irish produce which should then lead supermarkets to stock more Irish produce in order to meet the demand.
Are you doing your bit?
Thank you, by the way, to the reader who corrected me when I mentioned that Dunnes Stores were the only supermarket in the country to provide a breakdown of how much of your weekly shop was Irish produce on your receipt.
Apparently Centra supermarket stores also provide this useful information on their receipts.
