@Odin – thanks for your comments. Firstly, if you wouldn’t mind, can you please confirm that you have no connection with Airtricity?

As someone who’s been tracking the electricity market for 4 years now, it was my understanding that Airtricity had made several aborted attempts to enter the domestic electricity market in that time. To my knowledge, their most recent high profile attempt to garner customers was kicked off earlier this month.

Maybe you’re a “throwback” customer from one of their previous forays into the market. I presume that any customers who signed up during any of these previous failed attempts wouldn’t have been disconnected just because the company wasn’t looking for new customers any more.

With regards to your second comment, to be fair, a fear of receiving 2 invoices cannot be “wrong”. You’re experiences may have been okay, and everyone elses experiences may be fine when it comes down to it. It doesn’t mean that people can’t be worried before it all starts that they may receive two bills.

This article is factual wrong as Airtricity is in the market since a long time (I'm a customer for over 1 year now), however the new rates only came about in December.

Also the fear of 2 invoices is wrong, I got a final from ESB and than only new onces from Airtricity.
