The problem with Mastercard is that fraudsters know this, so when they steal a Mastercard, they know if they deposit to a gaming site, they will get a withdrawal by a different method. That is why the bookies have to ask for id to make sure the owner of the card is genuine. Mastercard are working on a solution which will allow bookies to pay back to the card but this is some way away.
