How to find interesting stuff on the internet
I guess people might already aware of this particular way of searching the web, but just in case, I’ll share.
It’s a way of searching the internet for stuff you might be interested in, that might not be so obvious that it’s available and using it, I’ve found some very interesting content in the past.
I was reminded about it after a tweet I’d bookmarked by Bernie Goldbach:
So, for example, go to your chosen search engine, type in the term that is something that’s of interest to you (so for me, “consumer affairs” or “rip off Ireland” etc), but then add in either doc (for a Word document), ppt (for a Powerpoint presentation) or even pdf or xls (for an Excel spreadsheet), and see what you might find.
The search with ppt can sometimes be very interesting as you can find presentations that people will have given in the past on the topics that might interest you.
Try it out – you never know what you might find.
