Ireland site in the Sunday Tribune went as follows:
A leaner, more focused site is valueireland. com. It's tiny compared to
askaboutmoney.com, but there's a very useful advice section which can save
you a fortune. It provides a concise and very readable overview of
things you need to look out for when shelling out your hard earned cash,
such as hiring a tradesperson, shopping online, avoiding excessive

While Eddie was looking at the sometimes staggering cost of using the internet
on your phone, we had the opposite experience using an O2 broadband bundle on
our new Nokia N95 phone.

It's just unfortunate that the
journalist listed us with 3 other websites, 2 of whom are no longer updated (shoppingbill.com
and ripoffrepublic.com), and one, ripoff.ie from Fine Gael, which is only rarely
updated these days.

Value Ireland is today quoted as a
"Market observer" (well, we think we are and are open to correction) in a short
piece about the ESB and the opening up of the electricity market this coming
Saturday. In an article not attributed to anyone, in the "Euro Notes" section,
the piece reads as follows -
No ESB switch
CONSUMERS get the right to use a potentially cheaper electricity supplier than
ESB this Saturday, but it won't be as easy as flicking a switch.
Market observers question whether it will be worthwhile for
ESB competitors to cater to new customers other than businesses.
Details of the half dozen contenders to ESB can be found on
the website of the Commission for Energy Regulation (www.cer.ie).
Value Ireland has carried out its own research into what the
electricity market will be like for Irish consumers after market de-regulation.
