ComReg ‘dismay’ at Vodafone WAP overcharging
Mobile operator Vodafone is to reimburse 550,000 customers who were overcharged for use of its WAP services over the past year and a half. The communications regulator said it was ‘dismayed’ by the news.
Each customer was overcharged by on average 25 cent a month, or less than €5 each in total. The total overcharging came to €2.65m.
WAP, or wireless application protocol, gives mobile phone users access to information and services from the internet.
